Very hard game against Pembroke Dock Quins. A great game to watch, with both teams evenly matched. The quins opened the score line with a very good team try. Hard tackles by Scott Thomas and Kieran Owen kept the score line down in the first half.

Soon after Saints replyed when the game opened up and top try scorer Harvey Lavin ran 30 yards to score!

After half time the Quins scored straight away, but soon after the Saints replyed with a great try - a break by Kieron Owen and nice back door pass to Daffyd Cotton to score. Soon after the Quins scored a good winning try to seal the game at 3-2

Saints continue their winning streak

A very wet and muddy morning at St Davids against Pembroke Dock, and the conditions were against us from the start. Extremly cold and slippery under foot, but the efforts from all the team made a great game. Little wizard Dafydd Cotton scored the first try, there were great efforts from 2 new boys, Iestyn Jenkins and Ethan Griffiths scoring his first try! Great commited tackling from Scott Thomas, Dafydd Cotton and Ieuan Davies kept the visiters at bay.Top try scorer Harvey Lavin sealed the win with the last try of the game, the score ended 3-2 !

Man of the match Dafydd Cotton!

Saints Under 8's v Haverfordwest - 22nd January 2012

Game one. The Saints under 8's gave an excellent performance against Haverfordwest in the first of two games. In a fast flowing game with end to end stuff, the final result was an 8 tries all draw, with the Saints tries being scored by Billy Marsh (with an outstanding 5 tries) and Charlie Lavin, who skillfully completed his hat-trick with the last try of the match. 14 players were here for this match, the best number we've had all season. Several players who are still eligible for under 7 have played up a year all season in order for the under 8s to make up a full team, and they have done themselves proud by playing against much bigger and more experienced players. Well done boys, Tom and I are very proud of your efforts.

Game two again saw a mixed under 7s and 8s play. This time there was a win for the Saints by 4 tries to 3. Again, a fast flowing game saw Haverfordwest take an early 2 tries to nil lead, but an excellent individual try by Iwan Davies brought the score back to 2-1. A second try for the Saints soon followed after excellent support running by Charlie Lavin resulted in him going over for his fourth try of the day to bring the scores level. Haverfordwest then responded with a great team try to go ahead again, but this was soon cancelled out by another excellent individual effort from Mathew Broaders who went over for his first ever try to bring the score back to 3-all (well done Mathew). With under 2 minutes remaining, it looked as though the game was going to end in another draw before the Saints picked up a loose ball close to their own try line and almost every player in the team handled the ball before an excellent rampaging run by Oliver Fynney saw him tagged just 2 metres from the line, and Iwan Davies was on hand to receive the scoring pass to go over for his second try and put the Saints ahead by 4 tries to 3. With 30 seconds remaining, there was time for one more play, but the Saints held out for the win, much to the delight of themselves, parents, coaches and the referee, who had done quite enough running around at that stage!!!

Well done boys, keep up the good work for the rest of the season.

The Young Saints did very well with every match being extremely competitive but the biggest positive of the day was to see the good numbers that each team had and how many boys across each age group were playing their first game of Rugby.
